About Kimberleigh, the "Master Groomer"
About Me:
Twenty years of hard work and dedication to my profession has finally paid off. My outstanding Full Service Pet Grooming Salon has it all. I pride myself on consistency, accuracy, professional customer service, and a knowledge of all breeds. My customers know how much they mean to me and have seen me grow and mature over the years (with loyal customers that have followed me from three separate salons dating back to as far as 1992). They know I take this career I have chosen, very seriously, and they can count on me to do the right job.
My first experience with a dog was of course our family pet, a Collie named Jake, he was my constant shadow. A loyal member of our family. My next family pet was a lovely and very lively Border collie mix named Magic. I had her throughout High School. She'd never stay anywhere for very long unless I had a tennis ball in my hand.
I became fond also of cats, shortly after school. I had six cats to be exact. As I slowly acquired them, I came across a very dirty matted cat, and he was in serious need of some serious grooming. I had very little idea on the nature of a cat, and their dislike for water had me wondering," where does one go for something like this." It was 1988, and my Vet didn't have a clue either. So I looked in the yellow pages, and made my first grooming appointment. Let' s just say that by the time I walked out of that store, I decided to do this for a living. And the rest is History. I enjoy my customers and love the job I do every moment, I couldn't imagine doing anything else.
About my work:
Dog & Cat grooming is my passion. My salon is the place “where your Pet always comes first” These are not just words, it is what happens here. The reason for my loyal clientele is my outstanding personal care and gentle nature. Each Pet is treated with warm and tender care. From the puppies to the seniors, their individual needs are met. I find grooming to be fulfilling in many ways. I enjoy finding the right haircut for each pet. There is always something different and each day is never the same. My customers trust me with their family pets and have done so for many many years. Over the past 25 years I have been able to refine my techniques, sharpen my skills and continue to educate myself. I attend Grooming Expos each year and never miss an opportunity to learn and grow. This industry has given me so much I hope that I can give something back to it someday.

My Achievements:
My own personal dogs have many obedience and agility titles. The first title I ever put on a dog was my German Shepherd, who is a second hand dog, that I acquired in 1996, then in 1997 within that first year we earned a total of 5 Titles: AKC-CD , UKC-CD, UAG-1, CGC , SchB (Schutzhund) Then we went on to acquire many other Titles, all in Agility. My Golden Retriever started out as one of my Service Puppies, after training him for 16 months, instead of going to the School to further his Career as a Full Pledged Service Dog, he remained with me, so we went on to train in Agility and he went on to hold NADAC Elite Agility Titles. My other dogs hold CGG, TC Certificates. The newest addition to my family is a Rottweiler who I plan to further her career in the breed ring, along with Agility, Obedience and Schutzhund competitions.
I have been a puppy raiser for the Canine Companions for Independence Organization. They provide service dogs for families with a disabled individual. I raised two different Golden Retrievers (1996 and 1998), that I trained to understand 30-40 commands while sharing my life for 16 months each puppy session.
My work history:
I groomed for two different Veterinary Hospitals along with a few independent grooming shops. I held a position at a Animal Emergency Hospital. I have trained with a few Breeders to show and prepare dogs for the conformation ring. I worked for a local Boarding Kennel for many years. Held a position as Head Trainer for Obedience as well as an Assistant Trainer for Agility Classes.
